Ever since I was a kid growing up in the suburbs of Baltimore, I have enjoyed learning what makes things tick. The summer between my junior and senior years of high school, my family prepared to escape to our usual summer home in Maine while I protested that I absolutely would not go without our Blueberry iMac. I spent my time that summer teaching myself how to program and have never stopped. At the end of that summer I had designed a transparent, albeit semi-dysfunctional, calculator application. But more importantly, I found a love for the end result - making the computer work for me. So much of what I have learned and continue to learn comes from open source projects, for which I am very grateful. Currently, I am up in the great city of Chicago where I am completing my senior year of college (majoring in Computer Science, of course!) From here I plan to move on to software design in the financial industry.
Money has never been my goal with these projects. I started programming applications as a form of self-education. When I originally created Senuti and made the source code available online, I hardly expected that anyone would download it. I simply had learned so much from other open source projects and felt compelled to share my own education with the community. After having distributed my applications with the source code available, it would be hard to do it any other way.
It has been difficult improving and maintaining the growing number of applications while also being a full time student. Simply sending an e-mail to tell me that you appreciate my work means more than you would think. Donations are always welcome, too, and certainly help promote future development. You can donate money via Paypal or help me expand my media and book collection. If you do choose to donate via Amazon, please let me know so that I may thank you, as this service is done anonymously.
